Light in The Darkness

Dianne Sposito

As a survivor, I know firsthand that cancer is a disease of despair. Blessed with a second chance at life, my creative life opened up as never before, and that creativity sustained me through the difficult, difficult days of this past year. In the deep of the pandemic, I took tons of photos, but one stands out: a photo of an iris, filled with much-needed color and light...for everyone! All I needed to do was keep my eyes open. Did you know that the French name for iris is” fleur-de-lis,” translated as “flower of light?”
